Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people that are 65 years of age or older, or if you have a disability and have both Part A and Part B. Medicare pays for much of your health care, but not all of it. You could be responsible for some coinsurance, deductibles, and prescriptions drugs.
There are many choices for insurance out there. Once choice is to get a Medicare Supplement plan, that fills the gaps and holes of original Medicare. When choosing this option, you will need to get a stand -alone drug card (PDP, also called a Part D drug card. Some clients may want a Medicare Advantage plan, which is called Part C. Medicare Advantage plans combine your medical and Part D drug coverage in one insurance plan. These plans are more affordable, but could cost you more out of pocket if you have to use them.
Which product is the right fit for me? This is a common question we get a lot, and it really depends on each person’s health and budget.
What we do is sit down with you talk about your health and educate you on original Medicare. We go over the Part D drug card in detail, so you understand how it works. Then we talk about the insurance products you are interested in talking about.
